Sarah had always been a bit of a cynic when it came to love. She had seen so many people around her get their hearts broken, and she didn't want to be one of them. So she had always kept her guard up, not wanting to let anyone get too close.
But all that changed when she met Jack. He was kind, funny, and charming, and Sarah couldn't help but feel drawn to him. They started spending more and more time together, talking and laughing and discovering things they had in common.
As the weeks went by, Sarah found herself thinking about Jack all the time. She would smile to herself as she remembered something he had said or done, and her heart would skip a beat whenever she saw him.
But she still didn't want to admit to herself that she was falling in love. She was afraid of getting hurt, and she didn't want to risk losing the special bond she had with Jack.
One day, they were sitting on a bench in the park, watching the sun go down. The sky was a riot of oranges and pinks and purples, and the air was filled with the sound of crickets and the scent of freshly cut grass.
Jack turned to Sarah and took her hand in his. "I know we haven't known each other for long," he said, "but I feel like I've known you forever. Sarah, I think I'm falling in love with you."
Sarah's heart skipped a beat. She looked into Jack's eyes, and saw that he was serious. And then she realized that she felt the same way.
"I think I'm falling in love with you too," she said softly.
Jack grinned, and they leaned in to kiss each other as the sun disappeared behind the horizon. In that moment, Sarah knew that she had found something special, something worth taking a chance on.
And as they walked hand in hand back to Sarah's apartment, watching the stars come out overhead, Sarah knew that her heart had found its home in Jack's.
